Kosciuszko Lakes Walk | ANU Mountaineering Club - l to l - Top

21/11/2009 - 5:45am

21/11/2009 - 7:00pm

The idea is to walk to the top of Mt. Kosciuszko starting from Charlottes Pass. Basically we will be doing a loop to the range having the chance to cross the Snowy River, to appreciate five alpine lakes (tarns), experience what a previous expedition has called "breathtaking views across thedramatic western slopes of the Main Range", and of course we will climb AustraliaВґs tallest mainland hill.

The walk can take 6-9 hours which, coupled with the 250km drive from Canberra to Charlottes Pass, makes for a very long and tiring day. Therefore we will have an early start at 5:45am on Saturday to drive the around 3 hours to Charlotte Pass.

Also: Always take a wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen, insect repellent and water and be prepared for all weather conditions in the alpine area.

The number of people for this trip will depend on the number of cars.

  8. Check out Mindstorm and Glide's newest DrumnBass release on Mindstorm Records "Future Music Sessions Vol 1". It features 4 tracks starting off with Mindstorm offering up some of the old sounds of DnB with "Destiny" and "Sudden Movement" followed by Glide bringing the new and current sound with his tunes "Funkadelicious" and "Apoptosis" and showing exactly why he's Japan's next Makoto. Definately a favorite for old and new school fans alike.
